The 2017 Limited Edition Black Roasted Dual-Mag Stratocaster, supervised by C.W. Fleming, has arrived!
Supervised by Chris Fleming—who served as a legendary Senior Master Builder at the Fender Custom Shop from 2000 through the end of 2020—this guitar is a reorder of the limited-edition model created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Fender Custom Shop (2017).

It features a combination of a black-roasted alder body and a quarter-sawn maple neck, with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard. The neck shape is the highly playable “60s Oval ‘C’” with a 9.5”–12” compound radius and jumbo frets. Based on the classic style of a 1960 Stratocaster, this limited-edition model incorporates fully roasted wood throughout and modern playability.

It is equipped with “Hand-Wound Dual-Mag Strat” pickups, combining “Alnico 5” magnets on the low-string side (strings 4–6) and “Alnico 2” magnets on the high-string side (strings 1–3).
These pickups deliver tight, punchy bass when playing chords, while the treble offers a sparkling, clear tone that’s pleasing to the ear.

Additionally, the control layout features a “Blender” control, where the knob that would normally correspond to the “center tone” is designated as the “Blender.” When the 5-way selector is set to either the bridge or neck position, this control allows you to blend the sounds of the bridge and neck pickups.

Since this is a relic-finished model, the details of any scratches that may have been added later are unclear; however, there are slight signs of wear on the pickguard, such as playing marks and fine scratches.
Other than that, there appears to be no significant damage worth noting, and the guitar is in good condition.

With its combination of pickups—which deliver a deep, dry tone reminiscent of a well-played vintage guitar made from roasted wood, along with an ideal tonal balance for the player—this is a practical model that truly shines in both live performances and recording sessions.
