USED FENDER JAPAN / PB62-53 3-Tone Sunburst [03]

We’ve just received a used Fender Japan Precision Bass!

This PB62 is modeled after the 1962 specification and features a neck with Fender Japan’s classic slab-style rosewood fingerboard.
Specifically, this is the PB62-53, which features a basswood body.

Based on the serial number, it appears to have been manufactured around 1993–1994.

Its rugged, raw sound is the very essence of a Precision Bass.
From powerful pick-driven playing to mellow phrases with the tone knob rolled back, this simple yet versatile instrument offers a wide range of expressive possibilities.

It shows overall signs of use.
Scratches and dents are visible throughout, with extensive paint chipping around the neck pocket and peeling paint on the body.
The strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop-style pins. (The strap side is missing.)
There are traces where the endpin screw holes were repositioned, leaving about three holes.
The jack and pots have been replaced.

The neck is currently in good condition, and there is ample adjustment range for the truss rod, both when tightened and loosened.
