Items in Stock at the Ochanomizu Wind Pal Store
This is the Yamaha YAS-855 alto saxophone.
Due to its short production run, this is a custom model that is rarely seen.
While its design appears similar to the 62 or 82Z, its substantial playing feel is reminiscent of the early SA80 models.
The tone has a somewhat rugged quality that, in a way, feels uncharacteristic of Yamaha; while it requires a great deal of control from the player, I believe it’s a saxophone that’s incredibly fun to play once you’ve mastered it.
Since it’s a model that stands out even among Yamaha saxophones, I think that’s why its popularity hasn’t waned.
It seems well-suited for players with a strong, full-bodied playing style.
There are scattered scratches and minor lacquer chips from normal use, but there is no major damage, and the instrument is in relatively good condition.
All pads have been replaced with new ones, and the instrument has been thoroughly adjusted, so you can enjoy playing it right away.
Included accessories: case, mouthpiece,
