Based on the body construction with a maple top and mahogany back—a specification used since 1968—this modern-day Les Paul Custom features 490/498 humbucking pickups that deliver higher output and greater versatility than the Custom Buckers found on Historic models.

The sharp tone, quick response, and long sustain produced by the maple top, ebony fingerboard, and deep neck joint will continue to be loved in every musical scene—from jazz to hard rock—regardless of genre or player style.

The neck broke during shipping but has been perfectly repaired by Gibson.
If you look closely at the break, you can see a slight step in the finish, but since it has been repaired without issue, there are no problems with its playability.
