2019 Gibson Custom Shop Eric Clapton 1964 Firebird I is now available pre-owned.

The Gibson Firebird I that Eric Clapton held in his hands in the 1960s and 70s represents his most impressive, fiery, and influential playing style during his most energetic period of activity.

Eric originally played Les Pauls, ES-335s, and SGs, but the one that really made an impression on Eric was a 1964 Firebird I.

"I remember one night in particular where I got the Firebird. That was a Cream show in Philadelphia. It was one of the best gigs I've ever played."

Gibson Custom Shop is proud to reissue Clapton's famous Firebird in a Limited Edition. Produced using a manufacturing process that is faithful to historical accuracy and precise measurement data based on scans from a vintage 1964 Firebird, the Firebird is the first of its kind in the world.

The newly developed Alnico V Firebird pickups bring back the searing hot tone of the '64 original. The package includes a back plate signed by Eric Clapton, a replica of Eric's favorite strap, a replica of the original guitar case, and a special certificate of authenticity booklet.

Through-neck construction with 9-ply mahogany walnut neck/body material with Indian rosewood fingerboard and hide glue for gluing. Position marks are dots, non-binding Firebird 1 in its simplest use.

One "Firebird Alnico V" pickup is installed, with 1 Volume, 1 Tone control.
The bridge is a "Lightning Bar Wrap-around," and the intuitive and direct play and sound produced by this very simple spec are exceptional.

The previous owner had hardly played this guitar, so the frets are not worn, and the guitar is in very good condition.

1960年代から70年代にエリック・クラプトンが手にしていたギブソン Firebird Iは、彼の最も精力的な活動期における、最も印象的で熱く燃え上がるような、影響力ある演奏スタイルを象徴しています。

エリックはもともとレスポール、ES-335、SGをプレイしていましたが、エリックにとって本当に印象深い一本は1964年製のFirebird Iです。

ギブソン・カスタムショップは誇りをもって、クラプトンのあの有名なファイアーバードをリミテッド・エディションにて復刻リリースいたします。史実に忠実な製法、ヴィンテージの1964年製のファイアーバードからのスキャン・データに基づく精緻な計測データを駆使して生産されます。

新開発のアルニコVファイアーバード・ピックアップが搭載され、64年製のオリジナルのもつ焼き焦がすような熱いトーンを取り戻しています。エリック・クラプトンによるサインの施されたバックプレート、エリックが愛用したストラップのレプリカ、オリジナルのギターケースのレプリカ、特製認定証ブックレットなどが同梱します。

ネックに9プライのマホガニー・ウォルナットを使用したスルーネック構造のネック／ボディのマテリアルに指板にはインディアン・ローズウッド、接着にはハイドグルーを使用。ポジションマークはドットで、ノンバインディングの最もシンプルな使用のファイヤーバード1。

ピックアップには「Firebird Alnico V」を1基搭載し、1 Volume, 1 Toneのコントロール。
ブリッジは「Lightning Bar Wrap-around」を使用した非常にシンプルなスペックだからこそ生み出される直感的でダイレクトなプレイとサウンドは格別。

本機の状態といたしましては、前オーナー様は殆ど弾かれなかったようでフレットも減っておらず、非常にきれいな状態を保っております。
