1976 S-1 Rosewood fingerboard Ebony

The S-1 was introduced in 1976 as a sister model of the Marauder.
The Les Paul type body is made of maple, and the detachable (bolt-on) joint glued neck is made of maple.

The body is made of maple, and the neck is also made of maple with rosewood fingerboard. Neck joint is bolt-on. This is a common feature of Gibson guitars of this period.

FV head with Gibson logo, wide traveler bridge.

Pickups are single pickups designed by Bill Lawrence in the bar pole piece style.

Controls are 1Vol, 1Tone, and 2-way toggle switch for the rear pickup alone in the inside body position. The rotary switch is turned on at the body center position for 4-step switching.

Position 1: Front + center series (series) humbucker sound
Position 2: Center + rear series (in series) humbucker sound
Position 3: Front + Center Series Rear Parallel (parallel)
Position 4: Front + Rear Series (Phase Out)
Quite a variety of sound variations can be enjoyed.

The pegs were changed to locking type, and the knobs were changed from sombrero in early 1976 to speed knobs around mid-1976. The knob is a speed knob, but it does not react to black light, so it is judged to have been replaced.

Overall, there are many paint chips, scratches, and weather checks, but it is a cool and dignified one as it is a vintage that has been around for about 50 years.

1976年からマローダーの姉妹機として登場したS-1。
レスポールタイプのボディにはメイプル、デタッチャブル(ボルトオン)式のジョイント接着のネックにはメイプルを使用。76年から78年までの2年間のみ指板にはローズウッドも使用されており、シリアルナンバーからも初年度の個体であると思われます。

ボディはメイプル材　ネックも同じくメイプル材にローズウッド指板。ネックジョイントは、ボルトオン仕様。この時期のGibsonに多い特徴でございます。

ヘッドは、Gibsonロゴの入ったFVヘッド、ブリッジは、ワイドトラベラー・ブリッジ

ピックアップは、ビル・ローレンス氏がデザインした、バー・ポールピーススタイルのシングルピックアップを搭載

コントロールは、1Vol、1Tone、2Wayのトグルスイッチは、ボディ内側のポジションで、リアピックアップ単独。ボディセンターボジションでロータリースイッチが、ONになり、4段階のスイッチングが可能。

ポジション2：センター+リア・シリーズ(直列)ハムバッカーサウンド
ポジション3：フロント+センター・シリーズ　リア・パラレル(並列)

かなり、色々なサウンドバリエーションが楽しめます。

ペグがロック式に交換、ノブは、1976年初期はソンブレロで、76年中期ごろからスピードノブに変更されます。入荷した個体も、スピードノブでございますが、ブラックライトに反応しませんので、交換されていると判断いたします。

全体的に塗装剥がれ、傷、ウェザーチェックは多いですが、50年ほど月日が経っているビンテージとなっておりますので、貫禄がありカッコ良い1本でございます。
