We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1965 Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville Model 6120 Double Cut!

The signature model Chet Atkins Hollow Body 6120, developed by Jim Webster, Ray Butts, and Chet Atkins, was introduced to the market in 1954 and initially featured a brass nut, aluminum bridge, and single cut construction with vibrato. It became a Gretsch icon, and its popularity was further enhanced by Brian Setzer's specifications.
By the end of 1961, it was modified to a double-cut construction with a simulated "F" hole, and in 1964, the model name was changed to the Nashville Model.

This model is a 1965 Chet Atkins Nashville Model 6120 with pot date.
Wood materials used are laminated maple for the body, maple for the neck, and ebony fingerboard.

The head features a plate engraved with a round block logo from 1958 and a model name from late 1964, Grover Statite metal button tuners, and a large truss rod cover from mid-1960. The serial number is engraved on the head top, and although the serial number refers to a 1963 model, we have determined that it was made in 1965 based on the pot date.

The zero-fret bound neck has thumbnail position marks, which have been used since around 1958, and there are no binding problems.

The neck joint has a reinforcing block inserted from the back of the body, and two Filtertron pickups with patent numbers engraved on them are mounted. The pickups are equipped with two Filtertron pickups, each with a patent number engraved on them. The pickups have spacers for both Filtertrons and Hi-Lo Trons and a mute mechanism, and the controls are Master Vol/Vol/Tone/Preset Selector/PU Selector/Stand By Switch.

It is equipped with the original straight bar bridge, Bigsby B-6 tailpiece, and "G" arrow knob, which was adopted around 1958 with thick and rounded edges.

The frets are originally thin and low, with approximately 60% remaining. The truss rod is confirmed to turn 60 degrees both tight and loose, and can be used without sound clogging.
There are some weather checks on the paint and some cracks and splits on the binding that are often seen on vintage Gretsch guitars, but the guitar is in relatively good condition and has a magnificent vintage style.
