For customers residing in Japan
A 1965 Jaguar Sunburst in excellent condition with a very high degree of originality has just arrived!

The body is made of alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard features a round-laminated rosewood inlay. Since the neck date stamp reads “APR165B,” this is believed to be an early 1965 model. The position marks are pearloid dots.

Although pickups with gray bobbins became standard around mid-1964, it is said that models with black bobbins were still in production through the first half of 1965.
This particular guitar features black bobbins and is equipped with two cotton-wound York pickups. Judging by the condition of the solder, it appears to have never been modified and is believed to be in its original condition.

The on/off and low-cut switches for each pickup are Stackpole-brand units. Again, judging by the condition of the solder, they appear to have never been modified and are believed to be original.

The pot dates on each control—304-6508 (Vol) and 304-650 (Tone)—indicate that they were manufactured in 1965. The capacitors are marked “SKTX.01K,” and the same type is also used for the preset switch. Based on the wiring and solder condition, these are also believed to be in their original state.

The preset switch is a Stackpole unit; the pots are linear-taper mini pots rated at 1 MEGΩ for Volume and 50 kΩ for Tone. Although the date codes were illegible, judging by the condition of the solder, there are no signs of replacement, so they are believed to be original.

The pickguard is a 4-ply tortoiseshell-patterned piece, with an aluminum shield taped to the back. As is common with vintage Jaguars, the pickguard shows signs of shrinkage.

The string guide is a single corrugated type, and the spacer is made of iron. The tuners are “KLUSON DELUXE” models with a two-line engraving.

There are no signs that the nut or frets have been replaced, so they are believed to be original. The remaining fret height is approximately 0.6 mm to 0.7 mm, which is on the low side. Since these are believed to be the original frets, the guitar will be sold as-is.

The bridge saddles feature wider grooves for the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings, and narrower grooves for the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st strings.
The floating tremolo features a “PAT. #2.972.923” relief engraving.

Regarding the neck condition, there is no buzzing or muting at a string action of 2.0 mm.
