John Patitucci, renowned worldwide for his superlative playing brimming with diverse musicality.
Customized for John, this TRB features a 35-inch (889mm) super-long scale, 26 frets, and a specially tuned active 5-control system.
Super Long Scale 35-inch Scale
Scaled up from the conventional 34-inch to 35 inches. Achieves improved low-end intonation and a more taut sound, as requested by John Patitucci.
To counteract the increased stress on the neck due to the scale increase, a volute* was added to the back of the headstock, and a quilted maple veneer was applied to enhance neck strength.
* Volute: A thickened section added to the back of the headstock joint to enhance strength.
Weight Balance
To maintain weight balance with the super-long scale, lightweight resin tuning machines were adopted. Additionally, the string posts were changed from traditional brass to aluminum for further weight reduction.
26-Fret Specification
With the scale increase, the fret count has been changed from the conventional 24-fret specification to a 26-fret specification. This enhances low-end sound and expands access to the high register, unlocking even greater super play potential.
Solid Brass Bridge
Features a newly developed solid brass bridge with high conduction efficiency to reliably transmit string vibration to the body. The string spacing is 19mm.
Active 5 Control System
Features an Active 5 Control System enabling diverse tonal expression.
I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Treatment
This technology reduces stress between the finish, adhesives, wood, and parts by imparting vibrations at the optimal frequency unique to each instrument while in tune. This results in a "more resonant" state right out of the box.
