ZON, an innovative brand founded by Joe Zon in Buffalo, NY in May 1981, has just arrived.

The guitar in this shipment is a Legacy Elite, and is believed to be an early model (made in the late 90s) without a truss rod.

The neck is made of graphite, a synthetic material that is both lightweight and resistant to warping and twisting, and is highly regarded by many musicians and is very popular.

The fingerboard is made of fenwood. Phenolic wood is made by laminating several layers of wood, staining it with black dye and hardening resin, and compressing it with high-temperature heat, making it much more stable and durable than ordinary wood.

Preamp produced by POLYFUSION, a well-known modular synthesizer company.
The "bp" pickups, custom-made for ZON by Bartolini, are mounted on this bass, and the wide range of sound characteristic of the graphite neck and the hard fretboard give it a unique tone that cannot be experienced on any other bass.

The rear pickup produces a tight sound by leaning on the bridge side and the sustain produced by the heavy bridge.

The middle trimmer in the back panel allows for a wide range of sound makeup.

As for the usage, there are some dents of about 1cm on the body side and end side.
The back also has belt buckle marks, dents of about 1 cm, and several paint chips.
The fretboard is also slightly dented, but this is not a cause of chattering, etc. It is hard to believe that the instrument is over 30 years old and still looks beautiful.

The locking pin on the strap is missing.

1981年5月ニューヨーク州バッファローにジョー・ゾンによって設立された革新的ブランドZONが入荷しました。

今回入荷した個体はLegacy Eliteとなっており、トラスロッドの入っていない初期個体(90年代終期製)と思われます。

グラファイトを主とした合成素材をネックに用い軽量かつ反りやねじれに対し非常に強く、様々なミュージシャンから高い評価を得て強い人気を誇っております。

指板にはフェノウッドを採用。フェノウッドとはいくつもの層をラミネートした木材を黒く染料と硬化性樹脂を染み込ませ、高温熱で圧縮したもので、一般的な木材とは比べ物にならない程に高い安定性と耐久性を持ち合わせてます。

モジュラーシンセで有名な「POLYFUSION」により製作されたプリアンプ。
ピックアップにはBartoliniがZONのためにカスタムメイドした"bp"が搭載されており、グラファイトネック特有のレンジの広い鳴りと、硬質な指板との相性の良さは他のベースでは味わう事が出来ない唯一無二のトーンを堪能する事が出来ます。

重量のあるブリッジが産み出すサスティーンとブリッジサイドに寄る事でタイトなサウンドを発音させるリアピックアップ。

バックパネル内にあるミドルトリマーにより、幅広いサウンドメイクを可能としております。

使用感と致しましては、ボディーサイド、エンド側に1cm程度の打痕が散在しております。
バックにもベルトなどのバックル痕、1cm程度の打痕、塗装欠けが複数ございます。
フレットにも若干の凹みがございますが、現状ビビリなどの原因にはなっておりません。30年以上経った個体とは思えない程の美観を保っております。

ストラップ側のロックピンが欠品しております。
