Gibson Custom Shop / 1959 Les Paul Standard Tom Murphy Burst BOTB Page74 is in stock!

This model is based on the coloring of the so called "Block Burst" shown on page 74 of "Beauty of the Burst", the bible for Burst freaks. It was painted by Tom Murphy, the first painter at the time of the establishment of Gibson Custom Shop, and an important figure who later built the legend of Hiscolle.

The top flame is three-dimensional and shows various expressions as you change the angle. The contrast between the wood grain and the burst is nothing short of amazing.

The neck and body are glued with hide glue, and the guitar is equipped with True Historic Parts' Aged specification, which Gibson Custom spent a huge amount of money on. The expressive and beautiful sound of the Custom Bucker pickups, which reproduce the original PAF, is irresistible.

The 59 grade tends to attract attention to the top view, but the mahogany on the body back is an important factor in shaping the sound. The actual sound is well balanced in the mid and low range, and the best parts of the mid and low range are output without being boomy.

The fretboard is also black with a tight grain, creating a more special atmosphere. Since it is not possible to specify the blackness of the fingerboard, the owner will be happy to see it so black.

There is a certain amount of use, such as dings, scratches, and small dings on the sides of the body, and a slight color splash on the back color, but it is in good condition and remains relatively clean. Of course, playability is also good.

バーストフリークのバイブル「Beauty of the Burst」の74ページに掲載されている通称ブロック・バーストのカラーリングをモチーフにした本機。ギブソンカスタムショップ設立時の初代ぺインターとして、その後のヒスコレ伝説を築き上げた重要人物であるトム・マーフィー氏によるペイントとなっています。

トップのフレイムは立体的で、角度を変えるたび様々な表情を見せてくれます。杢目とバーストのコントラストは素晴らしいの一言です。

ネックやボディの接着にはハイドグルー(ニカワ)が採用されており、Gibson Customが莫大な予算を投じたTrue Historic PartsのAged仕様を搭載。オリジナルPAFを再現したカスタムバッカー・ピックアップによる表情豊かな美しいサウンドがたまりません。

59グレードといえば、ついついトップビューに目を奪われがちですが、ボディバックのマホガニーはサウンド形成における重要なファクターです。実際のサウンドを聴いて実感するのが中低域のバランスの良さで、ブーミーにならず、中低域のおいしいところがしっかりとアウトプットされます。

指板も黒く目が詰まっており、より一層スペシャルな雰囲気を演出してくれます。指板の黒さは指定ができない為、これだけ黒々としたものはオーナーにとって嬉しいポイントですね。

ボディサイドの打痕やキズ、小さな打痕などある程度の使用感や、バックカラーの若干の色飛びなどございますが状態はよく、比較的キレイな状態を保っています。もちろんプレイアビリティも良好です。
