For customers residing in Japan
Teisco's Japan Vintage (Bizarre) guitars, a rare "SS-4L" with 4 pickups, the highest rank in the series, is in stock.
We judge that it was probably made in 1964 (Showa 39) because of the "39.9.7" stamp on the date inside the cavity.

In Japan in the 1960s, electric guitars with sharp specifications were produced along each manufacturer's own lines as part of the electric guitar boom.
Although the shape of these guitars was slightly different from the American electric guitar standards, they had sounds and unique looks that could only be produced by domestic guitars of this era, and some of the models were used by famous professional musicians. One of them is the TEISCO "SS-4L".

The body shape is reminiscent of the JGs used in surf music at the time, and features many retro switches and 4 pickups.
The SS-4L is equipped with gold foil pickups, which were used by Ry Cooder, the famous slide guitarist of the day.
The pickups are highly sensitive, so care should be taken not to turn up the gain too high.

As for the condition, the pegs and frets have been replaced, the tone pot has probably been replaced, some decals around the switch are missing, and the arm and tremolo cover are missing.
However, the head logo and truss rod adjuster cover are still in place, and the frets have been replaced with higher frets, perhaps for better playability.

The body paint has no noticeable cracks, and considering the age of production, the guitar is in very clean condition.
