Since the 1970s, ALEMBIC has reigned supreme in electric bass...
The ALEMBIC has been used by giants of the bass world such as Stanley Clarke, John Paul Jones, John Entwistle, and Mark King....
///////////////////////////////////

1977 Alembic SSB (short scale bass) SERIES 1
The top and back are made of Shedua (Oban Cole) and the center is made of Honduran mahogany, and the top, center and back are made of brownish wood. Shedure is also used for the veneer on the front and back of the head, and the shades of the wood are reversed depending on the angle of view.

The neck is made of traditional alembic maple purple heart, the 5-piece fingerboard is made of ebony, and mother-of-pearl is used for position markers.
The pegs have been replaced with GOTOH GB-7 chrome, and the head logo is made of cyril bar for a cool look.
The pickup covers show some playing marks, but there is no operational damage.

Alembic instruments already had a full-range sound design at the time, which was groundbreaking because it gave them an amazingly wide range of sound compared to existing electric guitars. The wide-range Series I circuit also allows the hollowbody to reproduce the unique sound of this instrument.
The airiness of the hollowbody, which sets it apart from the solid bodies of the Signature and other models, is the privilege of only the top model. Only the electrical components, which have a completely different design concept from other brands, can reproduce 100% of the hollowbody sound.

The wide variety of filter controls, which can be adjusted to match the range of existing electric guitars and basses, is the essence of the wide variety of sounds available in an Alembic instrument.

The glossy atmosphere of the paint appears to have been oversprayed to protect the wood.

Please take a look at the famous Alembic instrument that is etched in the history of electric basses.

1977年製 アレンビック SSB(ショートスケールベース)SERIES 1
