We’ve just received a special model from PRS’s top-of-the-line limited edition series at the time—often considered the precursor to the later Private Stock line!

Produced for only a short period from 1996 to 1997, this limited-edition series represents PRS’s pinnacle model, which would later evolve into the Private Stock line.
Featuring an artist-grade, premium maple top, a mahogany back, and gold hardware, this premium model showcases the full extent of PRS’s craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibilities at the time.

This instrument is a 1996 “Artist Series IV #32.” Serial #28542
It features a beautiful quilted maple top, carefully selected South American mahogany for the neck and back, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. It was crafted to special specifications right from the material selection stage.

Externally, while there are minor signs of wear from age and a slight cloudiness visible around the edges and near the neck joint, the guitar remains in overall good condition considering its age.

Additionally, since there was an issue with the electronics upon arrival, the pots have been replaced.
It is now functioning perfectly and can be used with confidence.

The Artist Series IV, with its limited production run, is rarely found on the market; as its reputation has grown in recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to obtain. This is a highly attractive instrument, not only for performance but also for a collection. We highly recommend considering this guitar.
