A 1978 Gibson S-1 Natural has just arrived!!

Serial No.: 70938545, a 1978 model.

The S-1, produced from the late 1970s through the 1980s, is the sister model to the famous Marauder. The body is made of three-piece maple, and the neck is also three-piece maple with a bolt-on joint. The headstock features an FV design with a volute on the back of the neck. The truss rod cover is stamped with the letters "S-1."

It is equipped with three single-coil pickups developed by Bill Lawrence, featuring pole pieces and clear covers.

While the standard bridge is a Wide Traveler bridge, this particular instrument is equipped with a Nashville bridge. It is likely that this was replaced.

The controls consist of 1 volume, 1 tone, a 2-way toggle switch, and a 4-way rotary switch. When the 2-way toggle switch is set to the lower position, the rotary switch is disabled. When set to the middle position, the rotary switch is enabled.

The rotary switch functions are as follows:

Position 1: Front + Center in series (humbucker-style sound)
Position 2: Center + Rear in series
Position 3: Front + Center in series + Rear in parallel
Position 4: Front + Rear in series (phase-out)

As for its condition, there are scratches and dents commensurate with its age. In addition to the bridge, the knobs, strap pins, and screws have been replaced. The frets are quite low, but playability is currently good.

Please consider this opportunity.
