The STR JTG Design SSH FT/FT from STR Guitars has arrived!!

STR Guitars is a brand specializing in custom-made instruments, crafted by Satoru Yatsuka, a master builder at “Asuka,” one of Japan’s leading guitar factories.

STR Guitars uses materials carefully selected from the factory’s stock of wood and listens closely to the diverse requests of players to craft the instrument of their dreams.

The newly arrived JTG Design is a model designed by legendary guitar builder James Tyler.
He and Mr. Yatsuka of STR first met in 2014. While planning a series of guitars for the Japanese market, the technical expertise of the Asuka factory, led by Mr. Yatsuka, was recognized.

After undergoing training at Tyler’s workshop in Los Angeles, the craftsmen at the Asuka Factory produced a prototype of exceptional quality—so much so that Tyler himself was amazed.
In recognition of this achievement, Tyler devised a new design exclusively for STR. After several months of CAD design work, the STR JTG DESIGN was born.
This is a guitar of the highest quality, resulting from the fusion of Mr. Yatsuka’s exceptional craftsmanship and Tyler’s sophisticated guitar design.

The horse chestnut wood used for the body was carefully selected from the finest grade material for its outstanding beauty, and beautiful flame grain can be seen on the body sides.
Hornbeam has a unique peak in the mid-to-high frequency range and is characterized by its rich resonance and clear projection.
The luxurious use of a one-piece construction achieves a perfect balance between the wood’s acoustic properties and its visual appeal.

The color scheme, named “Western Coast Sunset Gradation,” reflects the enchanting scenery of a sunset over the West Coast, and the beautiful gradient extending from the top of the body to the end captivates the viewer.
The flame grain of the horse chestnut wood harmonizes beautifully with this color scheme, enhancing the instrument’s perfection as a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

The maple neck, featuring a flamed grain, is crafted from “straight-grained” wood that is resistant to warping and twisting, ensuring exceptional stability during play and a design that will stand the test of time.
The neck profile follows the shape favored by James Tyler.

The pickups feature James Tyler’s JTS5500 and Secret models.
The JTS5500 pickups, positioned at the neck and middle positions, utilize Alnico 5 magnets.
Combined with their character, these pickups allow you to fully enjoy a crisp attack, power, and a brilliant bell tone.

The Secret pickup in the bridge position is characterized by its clear mid-to-high range and the crispness of the high strings, resulting in a sound that cuts through the mix.
In addition to its open sound, it also possesses a creamy, sweet presence.

It shows very little wear and maintains a pristine appearance.
