Lightweight unit manufactured for only 2 years! That extremely rare Strat is now in stock!

In 1981, "THE STRAT" was introduced as a higher-end Stratocaster model with updated controls and plenty of brass parts, and "WALNUT THE STRAT" was introduced as a limited edition model of the Stratocaster.
The limited edition WALNUT THE STRAT was not a great commercial success, and its short fate of only two years further enhanced the value of this model. These models were the foundation of the modern Strat lineup, which included the Elite, Ultra, and Deluxe models.
There is almost no damage to the wood of the body neck, and although the brass parts are a little dimmed, it is a beautiful piece.
There are no changes to the electrical system, and the pot date is 137209.

As with THE STRAT, in addition to the usual 5-way switching control, the third knob is a 2-way rotary switch, which allows for a further 5 tone variations: center/bridge (series), 3PU, front/center (series), front/rear (parallel), and bridge. It has 5 more tone variations.

Tremolo arm is included but not original.
The hard case included is a recent Brown Tolex case.

This is a rare model from the turbulent period of FENDER's history.

1981年にストラトキャスターの上位機種としてコントロール部をアップデイトさせ、ふんだんにブラスパーツを使用した「THE STRAT」が登場し、その限定モデルとして登場したのが 「WALNUT THE STRAT」
商業的な大きな成功とは言えず、わずか2年という短い運命となった事が更に当モデルの価値を上げることとなりました。これらのモデルの礎があり、ELITE、ULTRA、DELUXE などモダン系ストラトのラインナップとなっていきます。
ボディネックの木部にほぼダメージはなく、ブラスパーツのくもり等見られますが美品と言える個体となり、通常でも年代的に5kgを超える個体が多い中まさかの4kgを切るウエイトは非常に貴重と言えます。
電装系に変更点はありません ポットデイトは137209

THE STRATと同様にコントロールで通常の5way のスイッチングに加えて、3つ目のつまみが2wayのロータリーSWとなっており、センター/ブリッジ(シリーズ)、3PU、フロント/センター(シリーズ)、フロント/リア(パラレル)、ブリッジ　と更に5音色のバリエーションを持ちます。

トレモロアームは付属しますがオリジナルではありません。
付属のハードケースは近年のブラウントーレックスケースとなります。
