Walrus Audio introduces "Badwater," its first pedal designed exclusively for bass. Badwater is an all-in-one bass preamp and DI that enhances the bass sound—the cornerstone of any ensemble.Equipped with an optical compressor, overdrive, and a 4-band EQ section, Badwater lets you craft any sound you desire—from warm cleans and gritty chords to powerful overdrive and bright, cutting slap tones. It will be the ultimate tool for bassists of all styles to create powerful sounds.

Sustain
The internal optical compressor is located at the first stage of the circuit and is always ON. When the Sustain knob is turned all the way down, the compressor effect is minimal; as the knob is turned up, the input signal is compressed and the sustain is extended.

Drive Control
The Drive section adds shine and edge to the sound by applying distortion ranging from subtle to heavy. Using the Voice switch, you can select which frequency range—high, mid, or low—to boost.

Next, use the Blend knob to mix the clean signal with the drive signal. Since the clean and drive signals operate in parallel, blending them enhances clarity. The Drive Control also features an independent level knob for boosting or cutting the drive signal.

Shaping and EQ
With a wide range of EQ options, it can handle any musical genre. In addition to the four EQ bands—"low," "low mid," "high mid," and "high"—you can use the "LMF (Low Mid Frequency)" and "HMF (High Mid Frequency)" knobs to adjust the center frequencies of the low mid and high mid bands.

There are signs of use, such as scratches and dirt, but there are currently no operational issues.

内部オプティカルコンプレッサーは回路初段にあり常に ON の状態です。Sustain ノブを絞りきればコンプレッ]サーの効果は最小となり、ノブを上げるにつれ入力信号がコンプレスされサステインが伸びます。

Drive Control
ドライブセクションは、微妙な歪みから深い歪みを加えることで、サウンドにツヤやエッジを与えます。ボイススイッチを使用すればハイエンド、ミドルレンジ、ローエンドのうちドライブを増強させる帯域を選択できます。

次にブレンドノブを使用して、クリーンシグナルとドライブシグナルをブレンドします。クリーンシグナルとドライブシグナルは並列で動作するため、クリーンシグナルとドライブシグナルをブレンドして明瞭度を高めることができます。ドライブコントロールには、ドライブ信号をブーストまたはカットするための独立したレベルノブも備わっています。
