Yamaha's original folk body shape provides high playability for players who prefer a smaller body. The full, grainy sound is ideal for responsive chord strokes and fingerpicking.
The ideal warm tone and rich low frequency range have been achieved by repeated improvements using our proprietary scalloped bracing and the latest acoustic analysis and simulation technology.

＜Yamaha's traditional V-shaped head
Inheriting the original Yamaha FG head shape, the head is decorated with a tuning fork logo. The truss rod cover is engraved with "Since 1966", which indicates the origin of Yamaha guitars.

＜The front board is made of solid Sitka spruce.
The body top is made of solid Sitka spruce with A.R.E. treatment. Even though it is brand new, it has a rich sound as if it has been played for many years.
The cohesive sound is ideal for chord strokes or rhythmic fingerstyle playing.

<Solid mahogany is used for the side backboard.
The side and back are made of solid mahogany. The side and back are made of solid mahogany for a warm and rich midrange that is unique to mahogany.

<Cow bone nut and saddle
The nut and saddle are made of cow bone (#5 grade only). The bone is extremely hard and allows for more effective transmission of sound from the strings to the neck and body.
The installation and adjustment of the ox bone nut requires a high level of skill, and each guitar is carefully crafted in Japan by skilled guitar craftsmen.

<Our original scalloped bracing
In order to obtain the ideal warmth of tone, we have made a series of improvements through a combination of pseudo prototyping using the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology and prototyping by woodworking.
The scalloped bracing used in the FG/FS#800 series has been optimized to match the characteristics of the wood itself and the same type of FG and FS to further expand the low frequency range.

<A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) processing
Yamaha's proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) process is applied to the surface plate.
By precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the same changes that occur over time in lumber after it has been milled are produced in a short period of time, thereby improving sound transmission and vibration efficiency.
The A.R.E. process produces a warm, matured sound with good balance and fewer harsh overtones, making it sound like a guitar that has been played for years.

＜Equipped with the newly developed "Atmosfeel" pickup system.
The newly developed Atmosfeel 3-way pickup system consists of three different pickups that reliably capture each frequency range: a piezo sensor in the undersaddle for the mid and low frequencies, a microphone in the preamp for the low frequencies, and a proprietary, extremely thin contact sensor for the high frequencies.

＜The Atmosfeel controller is simple and easy to use.
The Atmosfeel's controller section is very simple to operate, allowing the user to mix and match the different pickups and easily create sounds.
The master volume knob allows for subtle tonal expression, the mic blend knob adds a boxy feel, and the bass EQ controller allows for peak EQ adjustment.
