USED Martin / D-35E Retro (Listed as D-35 due to a faulty preamp) (2014) Martin Acoustic Guitar [08]

It has a bit of a story behind it, but as an acoustic guitar, it’s absolutely top-notch!!

Originally developed based on an idea by Martin CEO Chris Martin IV, this Retro Series model fused Martin’s traditional guitar style with the microphone simulation technology honed in the Performing Artist Series.
Currently, due to the preamp malfunction, it does not function as an electro-acoustic guitar, but it is a flawless instrument as a standard D-35 acoustic guitar!!
* Only the tuner function was working, but pressing the knob produces a loud sound for a moment, so we recommend not using it.

Made in the USA, Nazareth factory
The all-solid dreadnought body features a European spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back.
The 3-piece back is the D-35’s most distinctive feature! The top has been treated with an aging toner.
Features non-scalloped X-bracing and an ebony bridge.
The select hardwood neck, with a nut width of approximately 44.5 mm and a 25.4" long scale, features an ebony fingerboard with binding.
The headstock is equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners.

Since arrival, the guitar has been cleaned, the strings replaced, the truss rod adjusted, the action adjusted, the frets leveled, and the binding repaired.
The truss rod has been tested up to 60 degrees in both directions and is functioning properly; although the frets have been leveled, there is still plenty of life left in them.

The body has scattered dents, scuffs, playing marks, and buckle marks.
There is some weather checking near the bottom of the bridge on the top of the body. There are steps and paint cracks visible along the binding.
The back of the neck has a sheen from playing and is scattered with fine scratches and dents.
There is a gap at the joint between the fingerboard binding and the nut.
There are also fine scratches visible on the headstock.
* Although it is unlikely to be used, there is some stickiness remaining on the control knobs.

Although there are signs of use, aging, and a faulty preamp, playability is excellent!
The well-balanced, sustain-rich Martin D-35 sound is still going strong! You can hear its versatility whether playing with your fingers or strumming.
