This is a Made In Germany Violin Bass 500-1 by Hefner.

Like the Rickenbacker, this violin bass is world famous for its use by Paul McCartney of The Beatles (Beatles). It is a '64 type model with the rear PU designed closer to the bridge. It features a one-piece neck, raised logo, independent open gear pegs, neck heel with heel cap, resin strap pins, unique control panel (wide type), and lightweight hollow body.

The front PU is a staple top/rear pickup with different screw type. This model has a soft and poppy sound that can only be achieved with a lightweight hollowbody, and is an essential part of the Liverpool sound.

Missing x1 metal plate on the knob, the compane screws have been replaced, and the PU screws have licked heads but are still adjustable. It shows signs of use (color fading, minor scratches and scuffs around the body, paint cracks around the pegs, scuffs and play marks, picking marks, buckle marks, fogging, bits and rust on metal parts and screws, and other exterior damage).

The fret board has been set up (cleaning, string change, rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, alignment, string grounding correction, case sticker removal) upon arrival, the fret board is high enough to play, and the truss rod has been checked to the limit at 45° on the loose side.

Rickenbackerと同様にThe Beatles(ビートルズ)のポール・マッカートニー氏の使用で世界的に有名なヴァイオリンベース。リアPUがブリッジに近寄ったデザインの64年タイプ・モデルで、1ピースネック、レイズドロゴ、ペグは独立オープンギア、ヒールキャップ付きネックヒール、樹脂製ストラップピン、独特のコントロールパネル(幅広タイプ)、軽量なホローボディが特徴です。

フロントPUはステイプルトップ/リアはネジ式の異なるピックアップになっています。軽量ホローボディならではの柔らかくポップなサウンド、リバプール・サウンドには欠かせないモデルです。

ノブのメタルプレートｘ1欠品、コンパネのネジが交換され、PUネジは頭が舐めていますが調整は可能です。使用感(色ヤケ、ボディ周り小キズやひっかきキズ、ペグ周り塗装クラック、スレや弾きスジ、ピッキング痕、バックル痕、金属パーツやネジ類の曇り・ビッツ・サビ、等々の外観ダメージ)が見られます。

入荷時にセットアップ(クリーニング・弦交換・ロッド調整・オクターブ調整・弦高調整・すり合わせ・弦アース修正・ケースステッカー剥がし)済み、フレット山は演奏に問題ない高さがあり、トラスロッドは緩め側45°で限界近まで動作確認済みにて問題ない状態です。
