A 14x6.5-inch snare drum from the GAX (Maple Fiberglass) series circa 1980.
The GAX series, which was highly popular among professionals at the time, features Pearl’s proprietary shell—a 6-ply maple core
, was characterized by a more focused, bright, and powerful maple sound, as well as immense power that wouldn’t get lost even at high volumes.

Additionally, the inclusion of a switch and a snare wire—both of which were only found on high-end models of the era
, which was previously reserved for high-end models of the era.

Combined with the die-cast hoops, this snare drum is truly rich in volume and possesses the delicacy befitting a high-grade model.

There are signs of aging on the metal, such as fine pitting, and some minor scratches overall, but it appears to have been well-preserved, and the head is the original Fiber Skin 2.
Although it is an older snare, it still appears to be in good working condition.
