An 8-string lap steel guitar made by CANOPUS, renowned as a classic steel guitar.
This is a CANOPUS 8-string lap steel guitar—designed for lap playing—which is no longer in production. It features a tone control on the near side and a volume control along with a 3-position rotary switch (tone switch) on the side of the first string. The three-position switch—Hard (Bright), Normal, and Sweet—offers a wide variety of sound options.
A slide bar is included, and the standard tuning is C6 (8th string: G / 7th string: A / 6th string: C / 5th string: E / 4th string: G / 3rd string: A / 2nd string: C / 1st string: E). This is a rare gem that many collectors are seeking.
There are signs of wear (such as minor scratches, scuffs, and play marks around the headstock and along the body’s outer edges, as well as tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage). The interior of the hard case is damaged and has been reinforced with duct tape.
It was set up (cleaned and restrung) upon arrival.
Condition Grade: B+: Some scratches are present, but the guitar is in good working condition for normal use.
Case: Hard case (with internal damage)
Accessories: Slide bar
Weight: 3.51 kg
Strings at Setup: .011-.042 set
Repairs/Maintenance: Cleaning, string replacement
