Based on the "LS16" with a nubby, slightly compact, fork-type BODY, all solid, ARE-treated Ingleman spruce TOP and rosewood SIDE/BACK.

Actuator
The LS16 is equipped with Yamaha's proprietary "TransAcoustic" technology, which functions using digital technology, but uses an acoustic method for pronunciation.
String vibrations converted into electrical signals are transmitted, with effects applied, to an actuator (shaker) located on the back of the front plate.
The actuator is the heart of a transacoustic guitar, and it converts effect signals such as reverb and chorus into vibrations that are transmitted throughout the guitar.
It is now possible to emit effect sounds from the guitar itself, without connecting an amplifier or speakers!

Simple and Compact Controls
Three simple knobs control the volume level of the effects and line out. The control knobs are designed to be compact and mounted inside the body. By minimizing body modifications that affect the sound, the raw sound of the guitar itself is fully brought out.

* Press and hold the TA switch (0.3 seconds) to bring up the TA function.
* When the LINE OUT jack is connected, the volume control for the effects on the main unit and the effects on the outputs can be adjusted at the same time.
* The reverb type is automatically switched at the 12 o'clock position on the knob.

High-quality live sound of the guitar body
The guitar body is based on the L-series with all front and back side panels of solid spec. The non-scalloped X-bracing construction of the L Series has been further improved with the latest analysis and modeling technology and expert craftsmanship.
Realizes a brighter, yet deeper and richer mid-bass sound. The surface board is treated with A.R.E. treatment, which gives the guitar a rich sound as if it has been played for many years, even though it is brand new. The Trans-Acoustic Guitar is the ultimate guitar designed to resonate with pleasant, natural effects.

Superior Playability
The neck shape, with attention to detail in the string-to-string pitch, string height, fingerboard binding and neck taper, does not stress the guitarist even after long playing sessions. Equipped with a 5-layer neck made of rosewood and mahogany. Equipped with a double-action truss rod to prevent twisting and maintain stable neck condition.

Newly designed battery box
The newly designed battery box has a simple shape and is mounted next to the endpin jack instead of on the sideboard. This minimizes interference with the guitar body hole and minimizes the effect on the live sound of the guitar.
