USED Gibson Memphis / Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Vintage Ebony VOS 2017 [10]

Made in Memphis in 2017, limited edition of 150 Shinichi Ikuta models.

The bass is based on his favorite ES-355, and the body has diamond F-holes. Vintage Ebony color with VOS specification is used for the coloring. The neck is of course mahogany, with a dark rosewood fingerboard and a "Rounded 1959" neck shape that gives the impression of solid thickness. The rolled binding process also gives it a comfortable grip that is typical of this grade.
Original MHS pickups with unmatched/unpotted AWG42 enameled wire PUs, which reproduce the PAF sound, are installed.
Also cool are the B-7 bigsby and baritone switch, symbols of mechanical design, and the hardware unified in nickel.

The pickguard has some minor picking scratches throughout. Also, the original cloudy-looking VOS is roughly almost glossy with use and cleaning. There is a 4cm linear dent at the top of the cutaway bulge on the top 6 string side of the body, a 2cm paint crack, and a ding about the size of a grain of rice. This is a common symptom of Memphis-made guitars, but currently there is no sign of polish seepage from this area. Both sides of the front PU have heavy picking marks, which can be seen when exposed to light. There is a rice-sized peel of clear paint on the lower right side of the body top binding, and another rice-sized peel on the lower part of the body top binding. There are also some scratches around the jack, and the outer edge of the jack has scratches and lines. There is a mark where the strap metal fittings were bumped from the lower left side of the body to the end part, and the clear paint has peeled off on the binding part. There are also some paint gaps on the binding, but they look natural. There are also some scratches and small dents on the sides. There is a line scratch on the upper left cutaway of the body back, and the entire body back has scratches, lines, and small dents. The back of the neck has minor scratches and dings, but nothing that would affect playing. The back of the head has a scratch on the tip of the first string, and there are scratches on both sides of the head where a winder was applied. The top of the head has a scratch from the tip of the string, and there are some paint gaps around the inlay. There are finger marks on the fingerboard surface, mainly in the low position. Each hardware has some scuffs as well as VOS staining, but they are natural.

The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be adjusted by turning it slightly in the direction to tighten. There are no string marks on the frets and about 80% of the strings are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, the guitar has been used without hesitation and is in player's condition, with the all-important certificate missing. However, the outstanding atmospheric looks and natural aging are still very cool! This is a hard-to-find item, so if you have been looking for one, we recommend that you purchase it anyway!
