USED Mosrite / VMG-850 The Ventures Model Vintage White 1980s [10]

A Japanese-made Mozlite Ventures model from the late 1980s has arrived!

The Mozlite VMG-850 White is now in stock.

It is believed to be a Kurokumo model from the period when Nippon Mozlite Co., Ltd. was distributing the product.
The original hang tag that came with the guitar still exists and is stamped with “VG-850.”
There is an “N” stamped on the neck tenon and a “900” on the underside of the bridge pickup. (There are no other stamps or markings on any other parts of the guitar.)

Modifications and Repairs
・The original frets were completely worn out and beyond repair when the guitar arrived, so they were replaced with Jescar nickel-silver frets (Jescar Frets: #43080 NS; the fingerboard was also resurfaced at the same time).
・The original cast vibrato unit showed significant damage and deterioration due to age, so it was replaced with a unit from the 1980s. (We were fortunate enough to acquire a unit that was in near-deadstock condition. The bridge unit remains the original part.)

Overall Condition
There are no issues with the pickups or electronic components. There is a slight crackling sound from the master volume pot, but it is not noticeable when your hand is touching the strings. Since this, like the master tone pot, is an original pot from that era, we prioritized preserving the original condition and deliberately chose not to replace it. (Please note that the volume pot is not covered by the warranty. One possible cause may be that the guitar was disconnected from an amp and left unpowered for an extended period; therefore, we recommend replacing it as necessary depending on how the condition progresses.)
There are scattered dents and paint chips on the body and neck. Additionally, the vintage white body color has yellowed due to aging; however, since the color on the body beneath the pickguard is similar, it can be inferred that the body was a creamy white color at the time of manufacture. The original metal parts show some tarnish and rust, but this is to be expected for an instrument that is 35 to 40 years old.Considering its age, it is in clean condition.
