Early '70s ES-335TD with Skinny Nut & Narrow Neck

A Gibson ES-335TD, believed to have been manufactured between 1970 and 1972, has arrived.
This particular guitar features a slim nut width (skinny nut, 1 9/16 inches, 39.69 mm)—a specification typical of models from around mid-1965 through the early 1970s—and is characterized by its narrow grip size.
Furthermore, the distinctive color of the sunburst finish from this era might bring to mind L.C.
Reflecting that crossover era, this guitar has been tastefully modified using genuine Gibson parts from that time.

Main Modifications
(1) Coil-tap configuration, adopted on models such as the ES-335 around 1977.
Pickups: Gibson Super Humbuckers designed specifically for coil-tapping, with Tarback-spec pickup base plates.
Coil-tap switch: 2-position Switchcraft toggle switch.
Potentiometer Dates: Bridge pickup volume (1377603, manufactured by CTS in the third week of 1976); bridge pickup tone (13775--, manufactured by CTS in 1975); the neck pickup’s potentiometer is difficult to read due to soldering work.
This can be interpreted as a modification using coil-tap parts for ES models that were sold as genuine replacement parts in the late 1970s. (Regarding the pot manufacturing dates, it is possible that they were surplus stock from a large inventory.)
(2) Darkroom Blacklight Inspection: The entire neck, including the headstock, has been over-lacquered, with the neck joint serving as the boundary.
The serial number and “MADE IN U.S.A.” stamp are difficult to read due to the over-lacquer, but they are still recognizable.
Furthermore, since no damage to the wood or traces of woodworking repairs can be confirmed, the work may have been intended to repair some simple damage to the finish.

Overall Condition
Frets: Believed to be the original frets. They appear to have been filed and reshaped several times and are on the smaller side, but this does not interfere with playability; however, this might be a good time for an upgrade, such as replacing them with frets from a mainstream modern brand that suits your playing style.
Escutcheons and Toggle Switch Knobs: Areas where the finish was completely cracked have been repaired with adhesive.
Other: There are traces of touch-ups on the headstock where the finish was marred by a guitar hanger. This could likely be repaired to an inconspicuous level with skilled professional repair work.
This instrument is over 50 years old.
While there is some damage, such as scratches, due to its age, it appears to be in relatively good condition.
There are no signs of severe buckle marks, and I can’t help but feel this is a clean, excellent-condition player’s guitar.
