A 1979 Tobacco Sunburst Jazz Bass RWFB has arrived!

A 1979 Fender USA Jazz Bass has arrived.
The finish color is the standard 525 Tobacco Sunburst.
On the warranty card (now expired) from the official Japanese distributor at the time, the model name is listed as “JAZZ BASS T-SUNB W/C.”
At first glance, it appears to be a three-color sunburst, but it seems this “T-SUNB” notation is an abbreviation for “Tobacco Sunburst.”
The burst layers consist of a dark brown color created by spraying multiple layers of brown paint.
If you remove the pickguard, you can see a color that’s close to the original.
This instrument is now in its 47th year.
While there is extensive wear and tear throughout the instrument due to its age, there are no signs of critical wood damage or evidence of rough handling.
The metal parts show some tarnish and plating deterioration (rust and worn plating), as well as scratches and scuffs, but they remain fully functional and move smoothly.
Many original parts remain intact, and given the extensive collection of period accessories, one cannot help but feel that this was a cherished piece.
While it is by no means in like-new condition, it is a clean specimen.

Customizations
・Copper foil tape (shielding tape) has been applied around the pickups and inside the control cavity for shielding. (Ground connection included)
This was a popular customization method at the time to reduce external noise in passive-spec guitars, and it can be considered work performed by a professional repair technician of that era.
