The VSP series is inspired by Stratocasters from around 1962 and designed to deliver a vintage feel. This is a high-end model that stands apart from the standard ST62 lineup, crafted by Dyna Gakki during the final years of Fender Japan.
It features a two-piece alder body with a lacquer topcoat, a maple neck, and an 184R rosewood fingerboard. The oval neck profile and vintage-style frets recreate the authentic grip and playing feel of the era.
It is equipped with three ALNICO CUSTOM ST pickups. These deliver a wide range of tones, from a thick, resonant front pickup to a well-defined center pickup and a crisp, cutting rear pickup, as well as the light, lively half-tone characteristic of a Stratocaster.
Furthermore, high-grade components are used throughout the electronics and hardware, including CTS pots, a U.S.-made 5-way switch, and a vintage-style tremolo equipped with a steel block. The result is a guitar that delivers the well-balanced tone characteristic of an alder body, along with a clear attack.
While there are scattered dents and some resulting paint chips around the body-neck pocket and on the contoured areas, the guitar is otherwise in pristine condition with minimal signs of use, having been cleaned and set up.
