The new PACIFICA PROFESSIONAL series is characterized by its solid construction, which is typical of Japanese-made products.
You can tell from playing it that it was assembled with total consideration of sound balance. It is that well made.

It is full of tasty elements such as the compound radius fingerboard and high-quality pickups made in collaboration with Rupert Neve Design, but the outgoing sound is just beautiful and uncluttered. The string tension is also just right. So the bass strings are well pronounced.

The "acoustic design" and I.R.A. effect may be a combination of the two, but the output gives the impression of being larger than other guitars, and the volume and tone effects (curves) are smooth, allowing for fine tone settings.

1. Deeper top and back contours for a more unified feel when playing.

The back contour has been deepened to fit more comfortably when holding the guitar, and the top contour (the part where the elbow rests) has been rounded to improve the fit against the arm.

2. Slim C shape for modern play

The Slim C neck shape was adopted to accommodate a wide range of styles, from lead to backing, based on feedback from many players in Japan and the U.S. The "Standard Plus" has a 42mm neck, and the "Standard Plus" has a 42mm neck. The "Standard Plus" features a 42.00mm TUSQ nut. The roll-off processing of the fingerboard sides is highly precise, and the neck thickness is set at 20.00mm thick at the 1st fret position and 22.4mm thick at the 12th fret position. Both low chords and power chords are stress-free and highly playable.

Compound Radius is used for the Professional Series

Compound radius is a high-precision conical fingerboard finish that gradually increases the radius of the fingerboard from low to high position (gradual radius = round at low position and flatter toward high position). This design also prevents choking at the high position, and is recommended for those who set the string height low.

3. Hi-Fi pickup "Reflectone" completed in cooperation with Rupert Neve Design

This pickup was developed and manufactured by Yamaha in collaboration with Rupert Neve Design, a company founded by Rupert Neve, who has produced many famous pro audio pickups. By using Alnico V magnets and researching and developing the number of turns, winding method, and pole piece height from scratch, Yamaha has created an extremely well-balanced pickup that combines the power of low frequencies with "sparkling" high frequencies.
