Limited Production! Yamaha Guitar 60th Anniversary Commemorative Model!

Yamaha guitars will celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2026, starting with the release of the YAMAHA folk guitars "FG-180" and "FG-150", the electric guitars "SG-3" and "SG-2", the electric bass "SB-2", and the guitar amplifiers "No.500" and "No.250" in 1966.

To mark this milestone, the "FG9 60TH" will be produced and sold as a limited edition Yamaha Guitar 60th Anniversary Model.

Yamaha Guitars 60th Anniversary FG9

Released in 2023, the YAMAHA FG9 is a flagship model masterfully combining Yamaha's scientific approach to design, including proprietary acoustic analysis, with the skilled craftsmanship of Yamaha artisans.

Based on the FG9, the limited-edition FG9 60TH features a body crafted from rare Guatemalan rosewood, renowned for its exceptional acoustic properties.

It is an acoustic guitar worthy of celebrating the 60th anniversary milestone, perfectly balancing powerful bass and sparkling treble with deep harmonics and a core-filled sound.

Powerful projection and clarity

Features meticulously designed to enhance sonic power and precision—including an Adirondack spruce top, thick back, and bolt-on neck joint—produce a rich, dynamic resonance.

With its excellent projection, clarity, and expressive tone, this is the ideal acoustic guitar for vocal accompaniment.

Guatemalan Rosewood: Harmony of Tone and Beauty

The use of Guatemalan Rosewood for the back and sides emphasizes rich bass and sparkling highs, adding acoustic depth.

The elegant appearance, featuring beautiful and distinctive wood grain, harmonizes perfectly with the FG9 60TH's rich, resonant tone.

Elegant and Understated Japanese Aesthetics

Details inspired by traditional Japanese design give this model a refined, unique character.

Features like the shimenawa-inspired inlay around the soundhole and body perimeter, the fingerboard position markers inspired by kumiki woodwork, and the body label made from Japanese washi paper express the precision and beauty inherent in Japanese craftsmanship.

60 years of craftsmanship, precision, and innovation

Refined craftsmanship and innovation cultivated over 60 years of guitar-making make this guitar special for you. Features include a slightly rounded V-shaped mahogany neck for comfortable grip and smooth playability, and a cow bone nut and saddle for an ideal balance of clear sound and sustain.

Yamaha Guitars 60th Anniversary FG9
