For customers residing in Japan
This is a 1982 ST62-65, the first of the JV serials that marked the historical beginning of Fender Japan.
It has the "MADE IN JAPAN" notation directly below the head logo, which is a very early feature of this instrument, and one can strongly feel the craftsmanship of the time.
The neck plate has been replaced, so the serial number itself is unknown, but the date of production can be determined from the stamp left inside. The front pickup is stamped "21 26 82", the center "21 24 82", and the rear "17 24 82", all of which are the original red bobbin pickups manufactured around June 1982. In addition, the neck joint is marked "7-10-82," which adds credibility to the record that it was assembled in July of the same year.
Based on the 60's style ST62, the specifications unique to the early JV were put in to reproduce a vintage-like sound and texture, and this model is still highly appreciated by collectors and players in Japan and abroad.
The sound spun from the red bobbin combines brilliance and core strength, and embodies the "authenticity" that Fender Japan had set forth at the time.
Even if the neck plate has been replaced, this is an extremely rare example with parts and records unique to this period, and its value as a vintage instrument will continue to increase.
The rubber part of the pickup has slightly melted with age and is lightly adhered to the pickguard and pickup cover. There are some dents on the lower left side of the body, but other than that there are only minor abrasions. Overall, the guitar is in very good condition considering its age, although it shows a little signs of use.
The neck has no noticeable abnormalities and is in good playing condition.
