LP Custom type with the austerity that can only be achieved by domestic production
This is one of the LP Custom type made by Kasuga Gakki Seisakusho in the late 1970's to early 1980's. It has a solid woodworking precision and a stately look that is typical of the heyday of domestic copy models. The pancake body and set neck construction with two-piece top and one-piece back produces a fat and persistent sound, especially in the mid-low range. The 2 humbuckers + royal 2Vol/2Tone/3Way toggle configuration produces a sweet rock tone when clean, and a core rock tone when distorted.
The sunburst finish combined with gold parts gives it a mature presence without being too flashy. You can enjoy the texture and atmosphere typical of Japanese guitars of that era, which is not found in current models.
There are scratches, dents, dull parts, rust, and other signs of use.
Pickup selector switch has been replaced.
There is a crack repair mark in the control cavity.
The neck is in good playing condition.
