The Historic Collection is Gibson Custom Shop's faithful reproduction of the 1968 Les Paul Custom revival model. The maple top and mahogany back combined with an ebony fingerboard delivers both a thick core sound and a sharp attack.
Equipped with a '68 Custom Humbucker, it produces a clear and glossy tone on clean, and a fat and sticky rock tone on drive. The gold hardware gives this guitar a unique appearance that is truly worthy of the "Custom" name.
The Vintage Original Spec (VOS) finish gives the instrument a natural vintage feel without excessive processing. The low gloss lacquer coating and the modest aging treatment of the metal parts give the instrument a new, yet subdued look. The appearance of the instrument is due to its specifications, and is not a result of actual use.
The neck is slightly rippled, but there are no problems with the playing condition.
