USED Oriente / Double Bass HB-35 [11]

The Oriente HB-35 is a Japanese-made double bass crafted by a long-established stringed instrument maker in Kyoto.
Featuring a solid spruce top, solid maple back, and maple laminated sides, this popular model combines rich bass tones with a natural resonance. While offering the ease of play typical of an entry-level instrument, it also delivers the expansive tone and expressive power unique to solid wood, making it suitable for a wide range of genres, including wind ensembles, orchestras, and jazz.

This instrument was manufactured in 2018 and has a measured string length of approximately 106.5 cm, equivalent to a standard 3/4 size. Its appeal lies in the meticulous craftsmanship and consistent quality typical of Japanese-made models, making it a recommended choice not only for those just starting out on the double bass but also for those seeking a model that’s a step above the rest.

The bridge has been replaced and the fingerboard corrected at a specialty shop for orchestral string instruments. Additionally, a pickup that had been retrofitted has been removed.

It is currently fitted with a bridge without adjusters and is set up primarily for fingerpicking. If you plan to use it for bowing, we recommend readjusting it to suit your intended use. Please note that the bow is not included.

There are some minor scratches and dents, but no particularly noticeable damage.
