Among the PGM line, known as Paul Gilbert’s signature series, this is a practical model that excels in playability and value.
The basswood body is paired with a Wizard-style thin maple neck, delivering smooth fingering and a responsive feel. Combined with the 24-fret design’s wide range, it handles technical playing with ease.
The distinctive “F-hole” design remains intact, asserting the PGM series’ unique character despite its simple construction. The HSH pickup configuration accommodates a wide range of genres, providing well-balanced coverage from clean tones to high-gain sounds.
While it lacks the ornate details and luxurious hardware of higher-end models, the design prioritizes playability above all else, making this a highly refined instrument that serves as a “signature model ready for the stage.”
There are signs of use, including scratches, dents, and some discoloration or rust on parts.
The pickups have been replaced with a Dimarzio DP158BKU, DP116BKU, and DP158BKU, and the selector switch has been upgraded to a 5-way model.
The truss rod cover and back panel are missing.
As there is some slight warping in the neck, we have performed a setup including neck leveling.
There are no issues with playability.
