The Fender Japan AJB-58 combines the wide range of sound possibilities offered by the PJ pickup configuration with a sophisticated look.

The arched-top basswood body is accented with body binding, and the vibrant Old Candy Apple Red finish and matching headstock create a striking presence. The result is a stylish design that sets it apart from standard Jazz Basses.

The pickups feature a PJ layout, combining a Precision Bass-style pickup with a Jazz Bass-style pickup. The front pickup delivers thick, powerful bass tones, while adding the rear pickup produces a well-defined, clear sound, making it suitable for a wide range of genres from rock to pop. The controls consist of two volume and one tone knobs, allowing for intuitive tone shaping.

This instrument was manufactured during the "Crafted in Japan" era in the early 2000s.
There are numerous dents and paint cracks on the body sides.
Additionally, there are numerous scratches, dents, and signs of metal tarnish throughout the instrument, giving it a slightly used appearance.
