USED Maxon / OD-880 Early Model [11]

The OD-880 Soft Distortion, known as Maxon’s first overdrive pedal.

This vintage model, believed to have been manufactured in the late 1970s, is an early version that does not feature an LED. It is equipped with a Motorola MC1741 operational amplifier, allowing you to enjoy a natural drive sound distinct from the later Tube Screamer-style pedals.

The control layout is simple, featuring just two knobs: Level and Sensitivity. The amount of distortion is relatively mild, adding a natural sense of compression and just the right amount of drive while preserving the amp’s inherent character. This model is highly regarded not only as a standalone overdrive but also as a booster for pushing tube amps.
It shows some signs of use, such as minor scratches and dirt, but functions perfectly.
