The BB400 series is the core of Yamaha’s BB lineup. Featuring an alder body, a 5-piece maple/mahogany neck, and YGD Custom V5 (Alnico V) P/J pickups, this passive 4-string model offers classic specifications.

The front pickup delivers thick, full-bodied, Precision-style bass tones, while the rear pickup offers a crisp, Jazz-style attack. Depending on the blend, it handles a wide range of genres, from rock and pop to funk. Combined with the high neck rigidity provided by the 6-bolt miter joint, it offers a stable, responsive tone with excellent sustain.
There are some minor scuffs and dirt, but no particularly noticeable scratches.
There are no noticeable issues with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
