A 2000 Martin D-42 featuring beautiful abalone inlays and a rosewood body.
This particular instrument has been confirmed as a 2000 model based on its serial number.
As one of Martin’s premium Dreadnought models, it features an authentic specification combining a Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood sides and back.It boasts a gorgeous and elegant appearance, complete with the Style 42’s signature abalone top trim, rosette, and snowflake fingerboard inlays. Featuring forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, this guitar delivers rich bass, smooth highs, and a sound full of the characteristic overtones of rosewood.
The D-42 combines not only its striking decorative elements but also the power characteristic of a Martin Dreadnought with the rich harmonics of a rosewood body.
Due to aging, the Sitka spruce top has taken on a natural amber hue, giving it a vintage-like appearance.
The binding near the nut has shifted due to aging, creating a gap between the nut and the binding.
There are indentations on the fingerboard surface at the 1st and 2nd frets. There are also indentations on the pickguard, likely caused by picking.
The top of the body shows a slight indentation that appears to be due to aging.
Fine weather checking is present on the neck and the top of the body.
Overall, the guitar shows signs of wear consistent with its age.
There are no noticeable abnormalities with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
One shoulder strap on the gig case is torn.
