The "L" Series is world-renowned as Yamaha's pinnacle of acoustic guitars. Even after 40 years since its launch, it continues to be cherished by countless top artists as a legendary instrument. The primary reason for this is that it has consistently delivered the sound and playability demanded by each era at the highest level. Continuing to evolve with the times and always responding to the needs of players, the L Series has unveiled a highly anticipated new model featuring practical updates!

Featuring a "Small Body" that is easy to handle and comfortable to hold, this model boasts an all-solid construction using generously selected mahogany and rosewood.The top of the body features Yamaha’s proprietary wood refinement technology, “A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) treatment,” which was previously reserved exclusively for the higher-end models in the L Series (such as the 26 Grade and 36 Grade). This technology has been generously applied to this model as well. Even though it is brand new, it reproduces a deep, rich, and superb tone with minimal harsh overtones—much like a vintage guitar that has been played and aged over many years.

Furthermore, the traditional non-scalloped X-bracing has been refined into a lower-profile, square shape, maximizing precision at the intersection points. This evolution has resulted in an innovative structure that transmits string vibrations to the back of the body more reliably and with minimal loss.

The neck section has also undergone a dramatic evolution. It has been changed from the conventional three-piece construction to a sturdy “five-piece construction” using mahogany and rosewood, significantly enhancing durability against warping and twisting.Furthermore, the latest neck taper—which is 1mm thinner at the 10th fret—and the adoption of "comfort-edge" fingerboard chamfering, which fits the palm like a second skin, provide supreme, stress-free playability all the way up to the high frets.Optimized for modern playing styles, the string action has been fine-tuned to be slightly lower on the 6th string side and slightly higher on the 1st string side compared to previous models, and the string spacing has been widened by 0.3mm, resulting in outstanding playability ranging from delicate solo fingering to rhythmic chord strumming.

Additionally, by incorporating a "double-action truss rod"—a feature absent from the early L Series—the neck can now be reliably adjusted to counteract both forward and backward warping caused by environmental changes.

The highlight of this renewal is the standard inclusion of a "passive pickup," ready for immediate use on stage or in the recording studio.Featuring the same high-quality piezo elements found in Yamaha’s acclaimed APX and CPX series of electro-acoustic guitars, these pickups deliver excellent response and ample output without compromising the nuances of the natural acoustic tone. As a passive model without a built-in preamp, it offers the versatility to connect directly to an amplifier or DI box without compromising the guitar’s inherent lightweight acoustic sound or beautiful body lines.
