A replica model by Kz Guitar Works that faithfully recreates the legendary handmade RED SPECIAL guitar, originally crafted in the mid-1960s.
Kz Guitar Works is a Japanese workshop that began in 2001 as a workshop specializing in the production of the RED SPECIAL, and has continued to research and craft these guitars based on their structural and design philosophies for many years.
This instrument is a complete replica that thoroughly adheres to the original’s philosophy—not only in appearance but also in woodworking construction, wiring concepts, the bridge/tremolo unit, and the control system.
The body features a unique 7-layer construction with a white oak center core combined with laminated pine, and mahogany veneer approximately 0.6mm thick is applied to the top, back, and sides.
The neck is made of straight-grained mahogany, and the fingerboard features white oak finished with black paint.
Built in 2019, this instrument offers a unique playing feel and tonal character resulting from a design that diverges from conventional guitar-making principles.
This is a highly refined model, meticulously crafted with attention to both construction and materials.
After arrival, we have cleaned the guitar and performed a basic setup.
The exterior shows minor scratches and slight signs of use, but no major visible damage or structural defects have been found.
The neck is in stable condition and does not interfere with playability.
The electronics are in good working order, and all controls and switches function properly.
This instrument is in excellent condition, both cosmetically and functionally, ensuring you can use it with confidence.
