Many headless guitars have already been created, and some have far surpassed classic guitar designs.
However, even amidst these advancements, Ibanez believed there was still further potential in this field.
And this Q (Quest) Series is Ibanez’s answer to the headless guitar.
After studying the playing styles of a wide variety of musicians, Ibanez has pursued uniqueness and originality in everything from the parts to the body design.
The result is the Q—a headless guitar designed to satisfy the insatiable curiosity of guitarists who continually push the boundaries of their own potential.

Okoume Body
We’ve selected Okoumé wood, which features warm mid-to-low frequencies similar to mahogany.

Ergonomic body design
Contours and cutouts have been carefully incorporated throughout the body to accommodate a wide variety of playing styles.
The complex yet refined design delivers exceptional playability.

Compact and lightweight, yet resonant body
Despite being a solid-body instrument, it features a lightweight and compact body shape.
At the same time, it is designed to preserve a rich, warm tone.

Wizard C 3-piece Roasted Maple/Bubinga neck
To accommodate a variety of playing styles, it features a standard neck shape that is neither too thick nor too thin.
The 3-piece construction of roasted maple and bubinga provides excellent stability and durability.

Roasted Birdseye Maple Fretboard
The fretboard is made of roasted birdseye maple, which is birdseye maple that has been heat-treated to bring out its unique, bird’s-eye-like pattern.

Jumbo Stainless Steel Frets
Jumbo-sized stainless steel frets are used.
It is easy to maintain, features a quick attack, offers excellent separation when playing chords, and produces a clear tone when playing single notes.

R1 / Q58 S-S-H Pickups
The guitar features an S-S-H configuration combining the “R1” single-coil pickup—designed specifically for the Q Series—with the “Q58” humbucker pickup.
Both are designed to deliver a well-balanced sound across the entire frequency range, making it easy to shape the sound with effects pedals and other gear.
The sound is characterized by powerful, unmuddy lows and bright, clear highs that are still easy on the ears.

Custom String Lock
The “Custom String Lock,” developed specifically for the Q Series, features a simple, one-piece design. It does not require special strings, making string changes quick and easy.

Mono-Tune Bridges
It is equipped with a bridge that offers a wide range of intonation adjustment and makes it easy to adjust string action.
By minimizing the number of parts in the saddle, it delivers a natural sound that brings out the guitar’s inherent resonance.

dyna-MIX9 switching system with Alter Switch
With a single flick of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker mode and single-coil mode, producing nine different sound variations.
The neck-position and center-position single-coil pickups are wired in series to simulate the sound of a 24th-fret neck humbucker.
This switching system is ideal for today’s guitarists who must handle multiple roles with limited gear.
