Introducing the “MDM1000” from Ibanez’s new “Mode” series, which reimagines timeless tones with a modern sensibility!

The Mode series reimagines the iconic designs and tonal philosophies that have shaped bass guitar history, while incorporating Ibanez’s unique perspective. Featuring a solid-color alder body paired with a clear pickguard, this practical 4-string model blends classic beauty with the innovation of modern gear.

The body is crafted from alder, which boasts well-balanced tonal characteristics across the entire frequency range, and is designed with the MDM’s original shape—optimized for a 24-fret configuration. It delivers an excellent fit whether playing standing or seated, and the “Super All-Access Neck Joint,” which is recessed one step deeper, ensures stress-free fingering in the higher positions.
The roasted maple neck, which has undergone heat treatment to significantly enhance stability and weather resistance, features an MDM-exclusive C-shape that fits comfortably in the hand. Player-centric features are incorporated throughout, including a rosewood fingerboard with smooth edge finishing, stainless steel frets that offer superior durability and quick attack, and glow-in-the-dark side dots that ensure visibility on dark stages.

The electronics feature the “Delta S4J” pickup with a newly developed hum-canceling structure. Black-plated stainless steel pole pieces and neodymium magnets produce a noise-free yet aggressive and highly detailed tone.The preamp utilizes the “Ibanez Sonitech S Preamp,” renowned for its versatile tone-shaping capabilities. In addition to a passive tone control that functions even when the EQ is bypassed, it features the “HexaMid System,” which allows you to select from a total of six midrange settings via a combination of the mini-switch on the top of the body and the DIP switches on the back panel, enabling precise tone shaping tailored to any ensemble or playing style.

The hardware includes lightweight “Aero-light Machine Heads” made of ultra-duralumin to prevent headstock drop, and the “MR5S Mono-rail Bridge,” which features an independent string structure and allows for saddle pitch adjustment of ±1.5 mm. From solid low-end to technical solo work, this high-end finish supports the groove of a new generation.
