The XJ-1T in stock this time is a model that has been assembled in Japan. The body material of this model seems to be ash or alder according to the catalog, but this one is probably alder from the graininess of the neck pocket. The maple neck and rose fretboard give it a vintage-like appearance. The pickups are hand-wound by craftsmen in the workshop with "Raw Vintage" pickups and Xotic's high quality and easy-to-use preamps.

And then there are the controls that are synonymous with Xotic. From the top, there are 2Volume, 1Tone, and 3Band EQ, with a tap switch on the side for midrange and treble FQ. The 2Volume is a push-pull switch that can be switched between active/passive and series/parallel. The back panel has a gain control for the preamp. It may seem difficult to put into words, but when you actually touch it, it is considerably simpler than you might think. It allows for a high degree of freedom, yet still allows for precise sound creation.

From punchy vintage sounds to lively modern sounds, it can be used in all kinds of situations! We hope you will enjoy its versatile sound-making capabilities!

今回入荷したXJ-1Tは日本国内で組み込みが行われているモデル。本モデルのボディ材はカタログを見るとアッシュorアルダーのようですが、こちらの個体はネックポケットの杢目から恐らくアルダーかと思われます。そしてメイプルネックにローズ指板とヴィンテージライクな仕様。トラディショナルな雰囲気を醸しつつも、工房の職人が手作業で巻き上げる「Raw Vintage」ピックアップと、Xoticの高品質で扱いやすいプリアンプによってモダンテイストのサウンドも楽しめるまさに二刀流のような仕様となっています。

そしてXoticの代名詞とも言えるコントロールについてです。上から2Volume、1Tone、3Band EQとなっており、サイドに付いているタップスイッチは中音域と高音域のFQとなっています。また2Volumeはプッシュプルでそれぞれアクティブ/パッシブの切り替え、シリーズ/パラレルの切り替えが可能。さらにバックパネルにはプリアンプのゲインコントロールがついているなど嬉しい仕様が盛り沢山。文字に起こすと難しく感じられるかもしれませんが、実際に触ってみると思っているよりもかなりシンプル。自由度が高く、それでいて緻密な音作りが可能になっております。
