The D-18 is a model known for use by Doc Watson, Paul Simon, Clarence White, Bernie Redon, Takahiko Ishikawa, and others. It is characterized by good sound separation and rise.
It is suitable for recording because the sound rides well on the microphone, and it is preferred by studio musicians and technical guitarists because it does not sound stagnant.
It is not flashy, but its tasteful looks are also attractive.
The current model features forward-shifted scalloped bracing, aged toner, a beckoning pickguard, and open-gear pegs, returning to the specs and looks of prewar vintage models. The neck shape, however, is a thinner modified low oval, which makes it easier to play and more in tune with today's needs.
It can be used for a wide range of applications, from backing vocals to instrumentals. We recommend it with confidence.
The instrument has been repaired for binding removal, and there are some bumps on the painted surface where the binding joins the wood, etc. There are also scratches and dings throughout the body, but it plays well.
A genuine hard case is included.
