Paul's guitars, like the Modern Eagle, have been the inspiration for many of Paul's new ideas in sound throughout the history of PRS, and Paul himself has specified everything from the wood selection to the pickups. Paul's Gutiar is the embodiment of Paul's aspirations not only as a guitar builder, but also as a guitar player who needs a guitar that works in every genre and environment.

Paul's Guitar is a combination of everything: maple top, mahogany back and neck, Honduran rosewood fingerboard, lacquer finish, brushed stroked bird inlays, narrow pickup bobbins, TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance), and a wide range of other features. For 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuning pegs used on many Core models to improve the sound, and the new wing buttons, designed after the bird inlays on the 12th fret, are lighter than the previous metal peg buttons. The new wing buttons are lighter than the previous metal peg buttons and produce longer sustain and a more musical sound, while reducing the loss of string vibration. The use of non-locking tuners on models without tremolo also contributes to further weight savings.
