The HD-28V was discontinued following the HD-28's 2018 specification changes, but with the disappearance of vintage reissue models in the same price range as the standard series featuring modified V-necks and long saddles, the HD-28V is once again gaining attention.

This particular instrument was made in 2002. The top center seam under the bridge was cracked upon arrival and has been repaired by our affiliated repair store using glue and a crack stopper. Scratches and dents can be seen. There are numerous scratches, especially along the bottom edge of the top. The satin paint on the back of the neck is dull and the metal parts are slightly tarnished.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right. The frets are slightly worn, but this does not interfere with playing. Both playability and sound are perfect.
The sound has a deep resonance, which is typical of the D-28 series, but the sound has good rise and separation, and even when trying out fast bluegrass playing, it does not sound stagnant or faltering. It can be used for a wide range of applications, from singing accompaniment to technical styles. This is one of our recommendations.
