USED Kawai / RB-855S Natural [03]

We have received a used KAWAI RB-855S in stock.

The “Rockoon” was KAWAI’s high-end series produced from the 1980s through the 1990s. This RB-855S is an ambitious model crafted at a time when 5-string basses were not yet commonplace.

It features an ash body equipped with two original JT-5 pickups. It delivers tight bass and a clear attack, providing well-balanced output all the way down to the low B string—which is crucial for a 5-string bass. Additionally, the 4th and 5th strings utilize a through-body string routing design, producing ample tension and rich sustain.

The control layout consists of four knobs: Master Volume, Front Pickup Volume, Rear Pickup Volume, and Tone. This allows for intuitive adjustment of the output balance between each pickup, enabling a wide range of sound shaping.

Regarding condition, the truss rod is functioning properly. While there are some minor scratches and signs of wear on the parts, there is no damage that affects playability, and the instrument remains in good condition for a used item.
