A 1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard '58 has just arrived!!

Originally released as a limited-edition reissue of the ’50s Les Paul Standard 58, this model features a wrap-around design and—arguably unique among ’70s Les Pauls—a one-piece mahogany back and one-piece mahogany neck, making it a truly well-crafted instrument. The embossed pickup logos are also a trademark feature.

The pickups are original P-90s with clear bobbins. The pot date is 1377142. While some parts are not visible, based on an overall assessment—including the solder work—we have determined that all components are original. The capacitor is also original.

The only replacement part is the jack plate. Although there are some cracks in the pickguard, this is a guitar with a very high degree of originality overall.

The serial number has been scraped off. Based on the Pot Date and the year the Standard ’58 was introduced, among other factors, we’ve determined it was manufactured in 1971.

As for its condition, while there are some dents, scratches, and verdigris, it is generally in good shape. Of course, playability is excellent, including the truss rod.

This is a rare example of a 1950s reissue from that era—please be sure to consider this opportunity.
